History: According to local legend Tariffville Road was closed due to multiple car accidents with fatalities. It has been said that you can see car headlights on the road and hear a female voice crying.
Location: Located off Route 189 at the end of a cul-de-sac, the road is overgrown with wild grasses, weeds and overgrown shrubs and trees. Part of the road is visible as well as parts of the old guardrail. The road is located at the edge of a cliff and part of the road is unprotected from the cliff with a steep drop off.
Findings: When we arrived the average temperature was 55 degrees. There was a full moon illuminating the road and its surroundings. We walked the length of the road which is approximately ¼ mile in length and then returned to the portion of the road where the guardrail is still present to begin our investigation. The remaining road itself has many sharp turns and small grades. At one of the curves in the road several of us experienced a feeling of dread and needed to move away from that area. Our group was divided into 2 units, the first unit being at the furthest curve and the other group being at the small incline in the road. The group at the top of the incline experienced what they perceived to be headlights in the woods near the second group. Within a few seconds the second group also experienced this.
We did experience a 20 degree temperature change during our investigation and several orbs were seen in the multitude of pictures that were taken.
The group decided that we needed to do a second investigation of the area. During the 2nd investigation, we did not experience any temperature changes, but 2 members of the group did experience feelings of nausea. We were not able to see “lights” on our second visit. However, we did get a picture of a mist with a face that is quite visible. Please see pictures included.
